The Transportation Management Office in Ekantakuna is yet to distribute about 70,000 licenses.
According to the office, all the remaining licenses have been printed and sent in the last one year.
Chief of the office, Sambar Bahadur Karki, said that the service recipients are yet to come to the office to get the license which was printed two-three months ago.
Last year, the department procured a large capacity mass printer and brought it into operation.
According to the office, the number of service seekers coming to the office for licenses has decreased after the festival. According to Chief Karki, there was a lot of pressure from the service seekers in the office after the closed office was reopened in June last year.
He said that many service seekers may have come due to leisure as many offices were closed at that time.
He said, “It is possible that the number of service recipients has decreased due to the opening of many offices.”
The office has yet to print only about 15,000 licenses of the service recipients who have come for renewal. The office is working to renew and distribute the new driver’s license without opening it.
The Bagmati state government has not yet decided to open a new license even though the department will accept applications for the license. Three / four hundred service recipients are coming daily for license renewal.
He said that this number was only for the last one and a half months. The department is printing and sending the permit sent by the office in about two months.
